I Played the Halo Reach Beta

If you're a video game nut like me, you probably know what I'm talking about when I mention the words Halo Reach. In fact, I shouldn't even say that you probably know, because if you don't know, then you're not the video game nut that you claim to be.

Halo Reach is Bungie's last entry into the epic Halo franchise. Being that Halo is the biggest video game entity outside of Mario, it goes without saying that this is a huge game. This past May, Bungie gave us a taste of the game by opening up the multiplayer beta test to anyone that had a copy of Halo 3:ODST. I was one of those lucky people.

I've always been a huge fan of Halo, and while I enjoyed Halo 3, I thought the series had gotten a little bit stale. It just felt a little too much like Halo 2. Well, with Halo Reach, that has all changed. I was worried I would end up being disappointed after playing the beta, but I could not have been more wrong. Halo Reach feels like Halo on steroids. From the wildly improved graphics to the newly added armor abilities that completely change up the game, this is a true step forward. This feels like even more of a leap to the next generation than Halo 3 did, even though Halo 3 was actually a leap to the next generation.

There was one thing I disliked about the beta though, and that is that it left me yearning for the release of the full game, which unfortunately does not happen until this September. However, I know that if I can wait it out, I will be justly rewarded, and so will you.
